Night walk scene

Animating this scene has been my favourite… the creature is resembling a butterfly and have spent my time carefully rotoing the legs out so that it twists in and out, I think it works wonderfully and I’m happy with it. 01/04/2014

Another shoot

the 4th shoot didnt turn out the way I wanted for the end of the film. Her waking up from a dream a was too cliche and didnt go well. I’ve decided to shorten it slightly and as the character comes home, finds her room filled with the spirits. She closes her eyes and they disappear.. or do they?

I think this is simple and a nice way to end it.

Animating Creature 4

I’ve basically decided to just go in order of scenes as it seems to just make sense. This is resembling a jelly fish so has pulsing movements… I plan to then create several of the jelly fish and roto out the scene background in order to make it seem as though they are intertwining 25/03/2014

Creature 3 animating

Animating creature 3 today, it’s a very long and laborous process and not as easy as I first thought… one change can alter another pin and the render times make it very difficult to gather how it looks when rendered. 25/03/2014

2nd Creature scene and organisation

Today I am focusing on the 2nd creature shots that resemble fish… I’m playing with different effects and colours to see what works best.

I have applied the puppet tool to this creature but it’s barely noticable.. but atleast it’s not 2 dimensional.

I’ve also spent my time trying to organise the project and creating more compositions as to not slow down the software.

Cafe no longer available.

As there were christmas decorations in the cafe from the scenes ive already shot, I thought it’d be more neutral to not have any of them in, so wanted to reshoot any shot which had them. Unfortunately the cafe manager has changed and i’m unable to shoot there anymore. It makes no major difference to the story or aesthetic but as it’s not a christmas themed story it would have made more sense to not have them. But i’ll make do

Cartoonfilter

Here is a filter I can adjust in after effects. I still want to go over the outlines with my own style but this does most of the work for me and is a nice effect. I was playing with the idea of not using any sort of animation style, but I think it really adds to the feel of the piece so going to stick with it.
